UNEXPECTED ITEM IN THE BAGGING AREA

As part of The Guy Hilton Gallery presents LIVE ON STAGE

RUTH BEALE, boyleANDshaw, CNIDOBLAST, TOBIAS COLLIER,
ADAM JAMES, ADRIAN LEE, HAROLD OFFEH and LAURA WILSON

Curated by Ali MacGilp and Cassandra Needham

HAROLD OFFEH invites guests to attack their favorite hate figures in
the form of piñatas. Destroy the piñata and win rewards. Meanwhile,
ADAM JAMES presents a new cast of outrageous characters including a
bootie-shaking pop star performing a live routine.

boyleANDshaw inhabit Tom Marioni's seminal work ‘The Act of Drinking
Beer with Friends is the Highest Form of Art’ (1970-). Taking
Marioni's concept as a point of departure, they invite friends and
collaborators to spend the afternoon in drink and conversation with the promise of
an impromptu song or two.

LAURA WILSON assigns a specific musical note to popular beverages, by
purchasing a drink you participate in this melodic performance. ADRIAN
LEE hosts a pre-launch event for his forthcoming children’s book
‘Arthur Gets a Job’ while TOBIAS COLLIER presents a new site-specific
installation.

At 6pm RUTH BEALE challenges guests with a local
pub-quiz-with-an-agenda: social and architectural history from squats to philanthropy. Expect
a return of ‘Pimp My Street’, ‘Mime That Pub’, and ‘Nu Rave,
Old Rave’. £1 entry and exciting prizes guaranteed.

The day’s events culminate with CNIDOBLAST’s ‘Glacial
Cyberotica’ at 8pm.
